Try a test booking, order or call before customers do
Open My KwickBoard and find Getting set up. Press Try a booking and book yourself on the page that opens. It is marked Test, only you get the emails, it doesn't count toward your plan, and it's removed after an hour. Stores can try an order, and phone plans a test call.
Before you start
- Your own sign-in for the portal. Only the business owner can make a test.
- For a test booking: your booking page is live. Until it is, the step says After your booking page is live. See Customers can't book with me, on calls or online.
- For a test order: you take orders. Until you do, the step says After you take orders.
- For a test call: your Kwickly Answers number is ready, and your own mobile is in Account, under Your business, Contact info, Phone.
- Your browser lets the portal open a new tab. If it blocks one, the step says Your browser blocked the new tab. Allow pop-ups for this page, then press it again.
Steps
Try a booking
- Open My KwickBoard. Under Getting set up, find Try a booking in the Booking list. If the list is folded away, press Show your setup list.
- Press Try a booking. Your booking page opens in a new tab, and the step says Opened in a new tab. Come back here when you’ve booked.
- On your booking page, check it says Test booking. Only you get the emails. It's removed after an hour. Pick a service and a time and fill in the form the way a customer would.
- Press Book this time. You should see Test booked.
- To free the time straight away, press Remove it now. You should see Removed. The time is free again. If you leave it, it is removed after an hour.
- Go back to the portal tab. The step now starts Done.
The link from Try a booking works for 30 minutes and makes one test booking. After that you see This test link has expired. Go back to Getting set up and press Try a booking again.
What a test booking does
- It shows on your calendar with Test: in front of the name, and holds its time until it is removed.
- The confirmation email goes only to your account email. Its subject starts Test:, and it says Test booking: only you got this email. It's removed after an hour.
- Nobody is texted or reminded. No customer record is made, and the phone number and email you typed are not kept on it.
- It doesn't count toward your plan's bookings, and it is left out of your booking numbers. It isn't copied to a connected calendar, and nothing is charged.
Try an order (stores)
- Under Getting set up, in the Store list, press Try an order. Your page opens at your shop in a new tab.
- Choose how many of something you want, then press See my total.
- Press the button that starts Pay and ends by card. You should see Test order checked. It stopped before the card page, so nothing was charged and nothing was kept.
- Go back to the portal tab. The step says Nothing was charged or kept. No order is saved, no stock changes and no order email is sent.
Make a test call (phone plans)
- Under Getting set up, in the Phone list, find Make a test call. If it says Add your mobile under Contact first, so your test call is recognized., press Fill in and add your mobile under Phone.
- From that mobile, call the number the step shows and ask about a price.
- Hang up, then press Check for my call. Calls take a minute to show. When it is found, the step says Read it under Calls.
While you have free test calls left, the step says Your first 3 calls from your phone are free for 5 minutes each. Minutes past 5 count. Your phone means the mobile under Contact info. A call from anyone else's phone, your team's included, counts like any other call. Once the 3 are used, the step says It uses about a minute of your plan.
It worked when
The step under Getting set up starts Done with the day. After your first test, the top of the list says Your first test worked. (or Your first test call worked.) and names what to do next.
Still stuck?
Tell me your business name, which test you tried, and the exact words the step or your page showed. A photo of the screen helps. I'll check what I can.
