My calls aren't being answered
Most often, call forwarding isn't switched on yet. Your callers reach your assistant only once your business line forwards to your Kwickly Answers number. Sign in, open Account, check that your number is ready, then dial the forwarding code shown for your phone company. If a red notice is showing, fix the payment or spending cap it names.
Before you start
- Your sign-in for the portal.
- The name of your phone company.
- The phone your business number rings on, and a second phone to test with.
Steps
- Sign in to your portal and open Account. Find Your Kwickly Answers number. You should see your number and its status.
- Check the status. "Getting your number ready" means it is still being set up, and calls can't reach it yet. When it is live, the status starts with "Ready" and says "answering calls".
- Under Forward your business line to it, choose your company in Your phone provider. You should see the steps for that company.
- From your business line, dial the code shown and follow the steps to the end.
- Call your business number from another phone. Your assistant should answer.
- If a red notice is at the top of your portal, press its button (Update your card or Go to Plan) and fix what it names. Your phone line answers again once the payment goes through, or from the next call after you raise or remove your spending cap.
If you don't see a number at all: one is bought for you once a phone plan's first payment goes through.
Google Voice: it only forwards to a number it has checked with a code, and your Kwickly Answers number can't pass that code on to you yet. Email me and I'll help you set it up.
Verizon: a basic business line forwards one call at a time.
Can't fix it right now? Follow the steps under Switch call forwarding off in the same place. Then your calls ring you, not a line nobody is answering.
It worked when
You call your business number from another phone and your assistant answers, and your number's status under Account starts with "Ready".
Still stuck?
Tell me your business name, your phone company, and what a caller hears when they call you. If a red notice is showing in your portal, copy its words into the email. I'll look at your line.
