Kwickly Answers vs. Ooma Office: Business Phone or AI Answering for Local Businesses
Kwickly Answers is an AI assistant that picks up the calls you forward, from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, while Ooma Office is a per-user business phone service that sells AI answering as an add-on. Ooma's pages list an AI Answering Service from $14.99 a month with up to 40 minutes of call time, and an AI Receptionist priced through Contact Sales. One Kwickly Answers plan also holds a booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and reminders and a customer list, with direct booking when you switch it on. At 40 minutes a month Ooma's printed starting figures are lower; the working is below.
What Ooma Office does, and what Kwickly Answers adds
Ooma's plans page (read 2 Oct 2026) prices Ooma Office per user a month: Essentials $19.95, Pro $24.95 and Pro Plus $29.95, with taxes and fees extra. The plan cards say a contract is not necessary. Every plan lists a virtual receptionist, which greets callers and directs them to people or departments, along with a mobile app and a toll-free number; Pro adds a desktop app, texting and call recording, and Pro Plus adds AI transcriptions and team chat.
Ooma's AI products are separate add-ons to those plans. Its AI Answering Service takes missed calls, answers basic questions, collects caller details and flags urgent calls, and its AI Receptionist answers calls, routes them and, per its FAQ, schedules appointments through Ooma Online Booking Pages that work with Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar.
Kwickly Answers covers the answering job and leaves the phone service where it is. Your Ooma line forwards to your Kwickly Answers number, and the assistant takes those calls, with Spanish at no extra charge. A booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and day-before reminders and a customer list come in the same plan. You pick whether the assistant books or takes a message, and a message is the default.

Is Kwickly Answers an Ooma Office alternative?
Yes, if the job is answering calls with AI and, once direct booking is on, booking the work. Ooma sells that as an add-on to a per-user phone plan, while Kwickly Answers sells it as one plan from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes. It does not stand in for the phone service: Ooma stays your line, and the assistant answers the calls you forward.
How do the costs compare at 40 and 350 minutes a month?
Ooma prints a price for a small block of AI minutes and Kwickly Answers prints plans from 350 minutes, so the two meet at the low end of the range. Both figures are monthly, read from the pages on 2 Oct 2026, and leave out tax and add-ons.
Ooma: its AI page says the AI Answering Service starts at $14.99 a month and includes up to 40 minutes of call time, and can be added to any Ooma Office plan. Its plans page lists Essentials at $19.95 per user a month. For one user that is $19.95 + $14.99 = $34.94 for up to 40 minutes of AI calls, before taxes, fees and the one-time $29.95 activation fee on its sign-up form. The pages we read (2 Oct 2026) show no price for minutes beyond 40, and the AI Receptionist, which its FAQ says schedules appointments, is listed as Contact Sales for pricing.
Kwickly Answers: Starter at the Essential level is $129.99 for 350 minutes, then $0.50 a minute, counted by the second, and Growth is $259.99 for 1,000. At 40 minutes a month Ooma's $34.94 is the lower figure, because the smallest Kwickly Answers phone plan covers 350 minutes. At 350 minutes no Ooma sum can be made from its printed pages, so ask Ooma for a quote at your minutes and set it beside $129.99.
Do I need to leave Ooma Office to use Kwickly Answers?
Not if your phone system can forward calls. Ooma's feature list includes call forwarding that redirects an extension's calls to a number you specify, and your Kwickly Answers portal shows steps written for Ooma. Your Ooma line keeps running for everything else, while the assistant answers the forwarded calls and, with direct booking on, books into the calendar in your plan. Your phone company may charge for forwarded minutes, so ask them.
Does Kwickly Answers work if I just need calls answered and booked?
Yes, Kwickly Answers works for answering and booking on their own: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, and the booking page, calendar and customer list come with it. There is no per-user phone plan to buy, and minutes past your plan are $0.50 each, counted by the second.
Which Ooma Office features are built, planned or not part of Kwickly Answers today?
- Built, not switched on yet: a warm transfer that briefs the person a call is passed to; reminder texts to your customers outside the $39.99 Website & booking plan; a connection to Outlook / Microsoft 365, where Ooma's pages list routing a call to a person, texting on Pro, and booking pages that work with Microsoft Calendar; and writing bookings into Google Calendar, which Ooma's FAQ says its Online Booking Pages work with.
- Not part of Kwickly Answers today: a toll-free number and team chat, which Ooma Office's plans list.
- What Kwickly Answers does today: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes with a booking page, calendar and customer list in the plan, calls you define as urgent are flagged to you by email, and an urgent lead can also be texted to one person who has turned that on in the portal and can be reached at that time, and after hours just for an emergency. Website & booking ($39.99 a month) includes 250 reminder texts a month, from the shared Kwickly Answers number, to customers who said yes.

Unhappy with Ooma Office? What switching to Kwickly Answers looks like
Switching from Ooma Office to Kwickly Answers means, for the answering job, forwarding calls from your Ooma line to your Kwickly Answers number, if your setup can forward calls. Your portal shows steps written for Ooma, along with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Comcast Business, Spectrum, RingCentral and Vonage, and your phone company may charge for forwarded minutes, so ask them.
Ooma's plans page (read 2 Oct 2026) lists Essentials at $19.95, Pro at $24.95 and Pro Plus at $29.95 per user a month, with taxes and fees not included, and its sign-up form lists a one-time activation fee of $29.95. Plans renew automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time. Your service continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and Kwickly Answers has no setup fee when you set it up yourself.
Why choose Kwickly Answers instead of Ooma Office?
- A printed price covers the booking tools too: a booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and reminders and customer list come with each phone plan from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, while the Ooma pages we read (2 Oct 2026) say Contact Sales for pricing on the AI Receptionist that schedules.
- No per-user phone plan to buy first: Starter is $129.99 and Growth $259.99 for 1,000 minutes (Essential level), timed to the second, with extra minutes at $0.50.
- Your Ooma line stays as it is: you forward a line to your Kwickly Answers number, with steps written for Ooma in your portal.
- The owner sets the assistant's scope, from direct booking to a message, and calls you define as urgent reach you flagged by email.
- Spanish callers are answered at no extra charge on any phone plan, fifteen more languages cost a flat $19.99 a month, and the assistant is built around trades and local services.
