Kwickly Answers vs. Zoom Phone: AI Call Answering for Local Businesses
Kwickly Answers is an AI front desk for a local business, from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes of calls, while Zoom Phone is a business phone system with a minute-billed AI receptionist. Both use AI to pick up the phone, and Zoom's page lists appointment booking too. With Kwickly Answers the assistant picks up the line you forward and, once you choose direct booking, writes the appointment into a calendar that is part of the plan, alongside a booking page and customer list. Zoom bills its phone system per user and its AI receptionist per minute; the dated working at 350 and 1,000 minutes a month is below.
What Zoom Phone does, and what Kwickly Answers adds
Zoom's phone page (read 1 Oct 2026) says Zoom Phone plans start at $10.50 a month per user, and lists its US and Canada plan with Workplace Basic at $16 per user a month billed annually or $18 billed monthly. Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist is sold on its own at $25 a month for 100 minutes billed annually, or with Zoom Phone from $0.25 a minute billed annually plus the cost of Zoom Phone. Its page says the standalone version works with any phone system.
Kwickly Answers does the same front-desk job inside a single plan. Point a line at your Kwickly Answers number and the assistant takes those calls; Starter covers 350 minutes for $129.99 a month, timed to the second. The same plan holds a booking page, a calendar, emailed confirmations and day-before reminders, and your customer list, where Zoom's page lists calendar connections to Zoom Scheduler, Google, Microsoft and Calendly.
The owner decides the assistant's scope: direct booking, or a message left for you (the default), with urgent calls of your own definition flagged by email. Spanish-speaking callers are answered in Spanish at no added cost on any phone plan, and the bill follows minutes rather than the number of people holding a phone license.

How do the costs compare at 100, 350 and 1,000 minutes a month?
Zoom prices its AI receptionist by the minute and Kwickly Answers includes minutes in each plan, so the sums count minutes on both sides. Each figure is a monthly amount from Zoom's pages as read on 1 Oct 2026, set against the Essential level of Kwickly Answers, with add-ons and tax left out.
Zoom: its AI receptionist page lists a standalone plan at $25 for 100 minutes a month billed annually, or $29.99 billed monthly, and shows no price for add-on minutes. With Zoom Phone it lists a starting rate of $0.25 a minute billed annually plus the cost of Zoom Phone, and its phone page lists $16 per user a month billed annually. At 350 minutes that is 350 × $0.25 + $16 = $87.50 + $16 = $103.50 for one user. At 1,000 minutes it is 1,000 × $0.25 + $16 = $250.00 + $16 = $266.00. Both use that starting rate, so a different rate would change them.
Kwickly Answers: Starter is $129.99 for 350 minutes and Growth is $259.99 for 1,000, timed to the second. So at 100 minutes Zoom's standalone $25 is the lower figure, because the smallest Kwickly Answers phone plan covers 350 minutes. At 350 minutes Zoom's $103.50 (its starting minute rate plus the $16 plan) is below Starter's $129.99. At 1,000 minutes Growth's $259.99 is below Zoom's $266.00 on the same basis. Zoom's phone page also says plans start at $10.50 per user a month, which would make it $98.00 at 350 minutes and $260.50 at 1,000; that card does not say which plan it is, so use the price of your own plan.
Inside the Kwickly Answers price sit a booking page, a calendar, emailed confirmations and reminders, and a customer list. Zoom's phone price holds a phone system that works on desk phones, mobile and desktop, with team chat and meetings in the same app.
Is Kwickly Answers a Zoom Phone alternative?
Yes, for the work Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist does, which is answering calls with AI and, once you choose direct booking, taking bookings. It is not an alternative for the phone system itself. Kwickly Answers is a single plan starting at $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, with the booking page, calendar and customer list built in, and it takes the calls you forward from the line you already have.
Can I keep Zoom Phone and still use Kwickly Answers?
Yes, as long as your phone system can forward calls. Forward a line to your Kwickly Answers number; the portal lists steps for the common providers. Forwarded minutes can carry a charge from your phone company, so check with them. Zoom Phone keeps doing the rest of its job, while the assistant takes the forwarded calls and, once you choose direct booking, writes bookings into the calendar in your plan.
Does Kwickly Answers work if I just need an AI receptionist?
Yes, Kwickly Answers works if you just need an AI receptionist: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, and Spanish needs no add-on. There is no phone system or per-user license to buy, and minutes past your plan are $0.50 each, timed to the second.
Which Zoom Phone features are built, planned or not part of Kwickly Answers today?
- Built, not switched on yet: connections to Outlook / Microsoft 365 and to Calendly, where Zoom's AI receptionist page lists calendar connections to Microsoft and Calendly; writing bookings into Google Calendar, which Zoom's AI receptionist page also lists as a calendar connection.
- Not part of Kwickly Answers today: a phone system licensed per user, with desk phones, team chat and meetings in the same app, which Zoom's phone pages list.
- What Kwickly Answers does today: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes and Growth $259.99 for 1,000, timed to the second, and the booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and reminders, and customer list are inside each phone plan.

- You set the assistant's scope, from direct booking to leaving a message, and the calls you define as urgent reach you flagged by email.
- Spanish callers are answered at no added cost on any phone plan, with fifteen more languages for a flat $19.99 a month. The assistant is built for trades and local services, using your emergency definition and your service areas.
