Kwickly Answers vs. Vonage: AI Phone Answering for Local Businesses
Kwickly Answers is an AI phone assistant with a calendar built in, from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, while Vonage Business Communications is a business phone system priced per line. Vonage's plans put calling, apps and voicemail in your staff's hands, and its comparison table lists a virtual receptionist on all three plans. Kwickly Answers answers the calls you forward from the line you already have and, when you choose direct booking, writes the appointment into the calendar that comes with the plan. The cost basis differs: Vonage rises with each person on a line, and Kwickly Answers rises with minutes of calls answered. The dated working is below.
What Vonage does, and what Kwickly Answers adds
Vonage's plans page (read 2 Oct 2026) lists three Vonage Business Communications plans, Mobile at $19.99, Premium at $29.99 and Advanced at $39.99 per extension a month on its monthly view. Each includes desktop and mobile apps, domestic calling, business texting and voicemail, and the table puts a virtual receptionist on all three. Premium adds desk phones, team messaging and video meetings; Advanced adds call recording and call groups.
Kwickly Answers is not a phone system, so it does not replace those lines. It takes the calls you forward from one of them to your Kwickly Answers number, and the plan carries a booking page, a calendar, emailed confirmations and day-before reminders, and a customer list. Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, and the bill follows minutes rather than the number of people on your team.
You decide how far the assistant goes: it books directly, or takes a message (the default), and calls you mark as urgent are flagged to you by email. Spanish-speaking callers are answered in Spanish with no add-on, so a front desk that handles the calls you forward can sit beside the Vonage lines your staff already use.
How do the plans compare?
Vonage Business Communications Mobile is $19.99 per extension a month on its monthly view, and Kwickly Answers Starter (Essential level) is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes of calls.

How does Vonage pricing compare with Kwickly Answers?
Vonage charges per extension and Kwickly Answers charges by minutes, so the two grow with different things. All Vonage figures are monthly, read from its plans page on 2 Oct 2026 on the monthly view, before taxes and fees. Kwickly Answers figures are the Essential level, with add-ons and tax left out.
Vonage: Mobile is $19.99 per extension, Premium $29.99 and Advanced $39.99. Three Mobile extensions are 3 × $19.99 = $59.97; five Premium extensions are 5 × $29.99 = $149.95; ten Mobile extensions are 10 × $19.99 = $199.90. The page's Annually view shows a 12-month promotion at $13.99, $20.99 and $27.99 per line, and the page we read (2 Oct 2026) does not say what applies after the 12 months.
Kwickly Answers: Starter is $129.99 for 350 minutes and Growth is $259.99 for 1,000, counted by the second, whatever the headcount. These are not the same service: Vonage's figure is for people to place and take calls and join meetings, and Kwickly Answers' figure is for an assistant that answers the calls you forward, with a booking page, calendar and customer list included. The pages we read show no separate Vonage price for an AI assistant, so no sum can compare the two on answering alone.
Is Vonage's virtual receptionist the same as Kwickly Answers?
Vonage's FAQ (read 2 Oct 2026) describes its virtual receptionist as routing calls to the right place and supporting multiple schedules; the pages we read (2 Oct 2026) do not describe it as an AI that holds the conversation. Kwickly Answers has an AI assistant hold the conversation. When you choose direct booking, the assistant offers free times from your calendar and books the job; by default it takes a message. Vonage also lists an AI Virtual Assistant among its features, and its pages show no price for it.
Do I have to leave Vonage to use Kwickly Answers?
No, as long as the Vonage line can forward calls. You forward a line to your Kwickly Answers number and your portal shows the steps for a Vonage Business extension; calls you do not forward stay with your Vonage lines. Your phone company may charge for forwarded minutes, so ask them. The assistant takes the forwarded calls and, when you choose direct booking, books into the calendar in your plan.
Does Kwickly Answers work if I just need calls answered?
Yes, Kwickly Answers works if you just need calls answered: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, with no per-person price, and Spanish needs no add-on. Minutes past your plan are $0.50 each, counted by the second.
Which Vonage features are built, planned or not part of Kwickly Answers today?
- Built, not switched on yet: reminder texts to your customers outside the $39.99 Website & booking plan, where every Vonage Business Communications plan lists business texting.
- Not part of Kwickly Answers today: a voicemail box, desk phones, team messaging, video meetings, call groups, and moving an existing number over, which Vonage's plans and features pages list.
- What Kwickly Answers does today: an AI assistant answers the calls you forward, in Spanish too at no extra charge, for $129.99 a month for 350 minutes on Starter, and the plan holds a booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and day-before reminders, and a customer list. Website & booking ($39.99 a month) includes 250 reminder texts a month, from the shared Kwickly Answers number, to customers who said yes.

Unhappy with Vonage? What switching to Kwickly Answers looks like
Switching from Vonage to Kwickly Answers means, for the answering job, forwarding calls from your Vonage number to your Kwickly Answers number, if that line can forward calls, and setting up your hours and services in your portal. Your portal shows the steps for a Vonage Business extension, and your phone company may charge for forwarded minutes, so ask them.
Vonage's plans page (read 2 Oct 2026) prices Mobile, Premium and Advanced at $19.99, $29.99 and $39.99 per extension a month on its monthly view, plus taxes and fees, and its Annually view shows a 12-month promotion price on each. Plans renew automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time, with service continuing until the end of the period you have already paid for. Kwickly Answers charges by minutes from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes (Starter, Essential level), with no setup fee if you set it up yourself.
Why choose Kwickly Answers instead of Vonage?
- A price that does not grow with headcount: Starter is $129.99 a month for 350 minutes and Growth $259.99 for 1,000 (Essential level), then $0.50 a minute, counted by the second. Five Premium extensions on Vonage's monthly view are $149.95 for people's calling and apps, a different service.
- A booking page, calendar, emailed confirmations and day-before reminders and a customer list in each phone plan, so when you choose direct booking the job lands in a calendar you already pay for.
- You keep your Vonage lines and forward one to your Kwickly Answers number, with no extension to add for the assistant.
- You decide what the assistant handles, from direct booking to taking a message, and urgent calls you define are flagged to you by email.
- Spanish answered at no extra charge on every phone plan, 15 other languages for $19.99 a month flat, and call handling built for trades and local services, with your own emergency definition and service areas.
