Kwickly Answers vs. Quo: Phone App or AI Answering for Local Businesses
Kwickly Answers is an AI assistant that picks up calls forwarded from your own line, while Quo, formerly OpenPhone, is a business phone app priced per user whose AI agent, Sona, answers calls inside Quo. The biggest difference is where the assistant works and how it is billed: Sona is billed in credits per call on top of a per-user plan, and Kwickly Answers is billed by minutes, with 350 minutes included in Starter at the Essential level for $129.99 a month. Each phone plan also holds a booking page, a calendar, email confirmations and reminders, and a customer list; with direct booking switched on by you, callers are booked into that calendar.
What Quo does, and what Kwickly Answers adds
Quo's pricing page (read 1 Oct 2026) lists Starter, Business and Scale plans at $28, $33 or $39 and $47 or $48 per user a month on its monthly view (the page showed different figures on different visits on 1 Oct 2026), each with one number per user and calling and messaging to US and Canadian numbers, subject to its fair usage policy. Quo's help center says Quo was formerly OpenPhone.
Quo's pages describe Sona as an AI agent that answers calls, takes messages, answers questions from a knowledge base you give it, can transfer a call and can text a link to the caller during the call. The pricing page lists Sona on every plan with 1,000 free credits a month, which its Sona pricing page puts at about 10 calls, with paid credit tiers from $25 to $199 a month. Sona's FAQ says it speaks English, Spanish and French and does not work with other phone systems.
Kwickly Answers puts the assistant behind a number you forward to, so it does not depend on which phone app your team uses. The owner's settings decide whether it books straight into the calendar or just takes a message, which is the default, and anything you define as urgent reaches you as an email.
How do the plans compare?
Quo's Starter plan is $28 per user a month on its monthly view, with Sona credits extra above 10 calls, while Kwickly Answers Starter at the Essential level is $129.99 a month with 350 minutes included.

Is Kwickly Answers a Quo alternative?
Yes, Kwickly Answers is a Quo alternative for the job of answering your business phone with AI. Quo, formerly OpenPhone, charges per user from $28 a month on its monthly plan cards and bills its Sona agent in credits per call, while Kwickly Answers is a single phone plan priced by talk time, starting at $129.99 a month with 350 minutes included. It handles the calls you forward and, if you pick direct booking, puts them in the calendar that comes with the plan.
How does Quo's per-call Sona pricing compare with Kwickly Answers' minutes?
Quo charges per user plus credits per Sona call, and Kwickly Answers charges for minutes, so the answer depends on how many calls you take and how long they run. Figures are monthly for one user on Quo's monthly view, read on 1 Oct 2026, with the Essential level of Kwickly Answers, and leave out taxes, fees and add-ons on both sides. Starter is taken at $28, the figure on Quo's plan cards; the comparison header printed $19, which would lower each Quo total by $9.
100 calls a month of about 2 minutes (200 minutes). Sona uses 100 credits a call, so 100 calls is 10,000 credits, which Tier 3 ($49) covers. Quo Starter $28 + $49 = $77. Kwickly Answers Starter is $129.99 for 350 minutes, and 200 minutes sit inside it: $129.99.
350 calls a month of about 1 minute (350 minutes). The lowest of Quo's printed tier-and-overage combinations is Tier 4 ($99, 250 calls) plus 100 extra calls × $0.55 = $154, so Quo Starter $28 + $154 = $182. This sum needs Quo's overage setting switched on; it is off by default. Kwickly Answers Starter covers 350 minutes for $129.99.
The unit decides the result: on Quo's pages a Sona call is 100 credits, and Kwickly Answers counts talk time by the second. Each extra Quo user adds $28 on Starter's monthly view, Quo also sells Business and Scale plans, and Quo's tiers or bundles could change the figure for your volumes, so run your own numbers through both pricing pages.
Do I need to change phone apps to use Kwickly Answers?
Not if your phone system can forward calls: you point a line at your Kwickly Answers number, and the portal's forwarding guide covers AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Comcast Business, Spectrum, RingCentral, Ooma and Vonage, with a general guide for another provider. Ask your provider whether forwarded minutes cost extra. Sona's FAQ (read 1 Oct 2026) says Sona does not work with other phone systems, so with Quo the AI agent and the phone app come together.
Does Kwickly Answers work if I just need an AI assistant on my phone line?
Yes, Kwickly Answers works if you just need an AI assistant on your phone line. The plan also carries a booking page, calendar and customer list, and the price is set by minutes: $129.99 a month for 350 minutes on Starter. You can forward all your calls, just the ones you do not answer, or just the ones after hours, if your phone company offers that kind of forwarding.
Which Quo features are built, planned or not part of Kwickly Answers today?
- Built, not switched on yet: a warm transfer that briefs the person a call is passed to, and reminder texts to your customers outside the $39.99 Website & booking plan, where Quo's pages list Sona transferring a call, and calling and messaging on every plan.
- Not part of Kwickly Answers today: a business phone app with a number for each user and shared numbers, which Quo's plans list.
- What Kwickly Answers does today: the assistant answers the calls forwarded from the line you already use, priced by talk time from $129.99 a month for 350 minutes, and the plan holds a booking page, calendar, confirmation and reminder emails, and a customer list. Website & booking ($39.99 a month) includes 250 reminder texts a month, from the shared Kwickly Answers number, to customers who said yes.

Kwickly Answers bills by minutes, starting at $129.99 a month with 350 included on Starter at the Essential level, setting it up yourself has no fee, and the portal's Getting set up list walks through your number, forwarding, hours, services and prices, booking page and reminders.
Why choose Kwickly Answers instead of Quo?
- It works behind the line you already use, so your team keeps its own phone app and you add the assistant by forwarding a line.
- One phone plan priced by minutes, with no per-user fee and no credit tiers to choose: 350 minutes on Starter ($129.99) or 1,000 on Growth ($259.99) at the Essential level. Beyond that the assistant keeps answering at $0.50 a minute, by the second.
- The calendar, booking page, confirmation and reminder emails and customer list ship with every phone plan, so a call can end as a booking when you turn direct booking on.
- The owner decides what the assistant handles; urgent calls you define reach you by email, and each message or lead is listed in the portal.
- Spanish comes with every phone plan, and a flat $19.99 a month adds 15 more languages, three of which can have a native-sounding voice.
