Write a reply to a review
Paste a review into Draft a reply to a review under Customers and press Write a reply. You get a drafted public reply to read, change and copy. Nothing is posted for you: you paste it into Google yourself. Kwickly Answers sends the review to an AI service to write the draft and doesn't keep it.
Before you start
- Your sign-in for the portal, as the owner.
- The review itself, copied from Google or wherever it was left. It can be up to 2,000 characters.
- If you run a law, health, therapy or counseling business: read the note below the steps first.
Steps
Step 1: paste the review
- Sign in to the portal and open Customers, then Draft a reply to a review.
- Paste the review into Paste the review here.
- Optional: choose a star count under Stars (optional) and type the reviewer's first name under Reviewer's name (optional). They are used only to write the draft.
- If your business is a law, health, therapy or counseling business, tick This is a law, health, therapy or counseling business. Replies will not greet anyone by name or treat them as a client or patient. For some kinds of business it is already on, and says so.
Step 2: write, read and copy
- Press Write a reply.
- Read the warning above the draft. A public reply can confirm that someone is your customer, and you post it yourself, so it is your statement.
- Change anything you like in Your reply (you can change it). If the writing helper is busy, you get a simple reply and a note that says so.
- Press Copy reply, then paste it into Google yourself. Press Write another to start again.
- If the review is one to three stars, you may see Add follow-up. It adds a reminder to Customers, Follow-ups, where you can mark it Done later. The review is not saved with it.
Each draft is checked so it doesn't offer anything, ask the reviewer to change or remove the review, or carry a link or phone number. If a check catches one, you get a simple fixed reply instead. The check can miss things, so read every word before you post. Don't confirm that a reviewer is a client or patient, and don't mention a visit, appointment or case, even if they did. Google checks replies against its own rules and may ask you to edit one. A drafted reply is a starting point: what you post is yours.
It worked when
You have a reply you've read and changed, copied, and pasted into Google yourself, and Google shows it under the review. Nothing is posted from the portal, so if it isn't on Google, it hasn't been pasted there yet.
Still stuck?
Tell me your business name and what happens when you press Write a reply. Please don't email me a customer's review or name. A photo of the screen helps. I'll check what I can.
